An established global retail chain with over 400 stores in 50 countries around the world was seeking an improved system for tracking, managing, and reporting its energy consumption. The company was also looking for an energy management solution could help support its robust corporate sustainability program and increase operational efficiency in their stores. Kambo’s official energy monitoring partner, Panoramic Power was selected as energy management partner based on their solution’s ease of installation and the granular energy data it provides. Panoramic Power was also the chosen vendor due to their solutions benchmarking capabilities and real-time reports and alerts.
Panoramic Power’s solution was rolled out initially as a pilot program in six stores in North America with non-intrusive wireless sensors, paired with cloud-based analytics that quickly supplied real-time data and analytics to inform actions. Data from the monitoring was integrated with the client’s own Building Management System to provide further depth and visibility into device level energy use by location.
Once the monitoring began on the individual store level, the company was able to quickly pick up on energy and operational inefficiencies resulting in:
- an immediate reduction in electrical energy consumption through real time alerts identifying energy waste and operational problems
- improved internal best practices for optimizing energy and operational performance through benchmarking between individual devices and locations
- savings on maintenance costs through a more efficient maintenance schedule
Integrating Panoramic Power’s monitoring data with the company’s Building Management System enabled the client to improve their efficiencies, eliminate redundancies, and increase visibility into their processes.
