FCMC owns three assisted living facilities in The Lower Mainland and wanted to reduce it’s operating costs, take advantage of utility rebates, and lower it’s maintenance costs.
Kambo identified and implemented energy saving opportunities at all three locations:
- Eden Care Home, Chilliwack, BC
- Royal Crescent Gardens, Maple Ridge BC
- West Shore Laylum Rest Home, Delta BC
Beginning with thorough energy assessments of all three facilities, Kambo was able to quantify their energy saving potential, confirm the specific utility rebates that were available, and provide the costs to implement the work.
With a short payback of only 19 months and rebates of $9,000 available, FCMC moved quickly to execute Kambo’s recommendations and start saving energy.
The project included indoor and outdoor lighting upgrades, adding daylight harvesting sensors, occupancy sensors, programmable heating controls, plug-load timers, hot-water reduction, and smart surge protectors.
Overall these measures added up to $10,600 in annual savings and have significantly reduced the maintenance required for each location.
