About Océ Display Graphics Systems
Founded in 1877, Océ Display Graphics Systems (Océ) is one of the world’s leading providers of document management and printing for professionals. Océ – a Canon company – designs and produces office printing and copying systems, high-speed digital production printers, and wide format printing systems for both technical documentation and color display graphics.
Headquartered in Venlo, The Netherlands, Océ is active in over 90 countries and employs some 23,000 people worldwide. Océ’s facility in Richmond, BC has approximately 200 employees and has operations ranging from research and development (R&D) to production and service support.
Océ’s business ethos centres around the requirements of stakeholders, without compromising the needs of future generations. The company has a strong mandate to reduce the carbon footprint over their products’ lifecycles, reduce the use of natural resources, and eliminate the use of hazardous substances. Facility efficiency is therefore an integral component of Océ’s sustainability policy.

So when Canon started to introduce more aggressive environmental targets for facility emissions, Edwin, an electrical engineer, was happy to investigate innovative solutions.
